Flipped is a web-based software application that allows for the creation of engaging and interactive video content.
Additionally, Flipped is governed by the Children's Privacy and Data Collection Policy below.
We take our compliance obligations for data privacy and protection laws such as The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA"), the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and other such laws very seriously.
Flipped has generally two types of User Accounts ("Users", "Accounts"):
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 (for U.S. users) or 16 (for non-U.S. users) ("Child", "Children") for Creator accounts. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Data under a Creator account, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
If you would like to review the information we have collected from your Child such as their name and poll responses, or if you would like to ask us to make no further use of, or delete, the information we have collected from your Child, please contact us by completing the form at https://flipped.app/support or e-mail us at [email protected].
When a Viewer accesses a recorded Flip, they are prompted to provide a name. This allows Creators to gauge Viewer learning and is used to match viewership duration and poll responses to a Viewer.
Flipped has features that allow integrated log in using a third party provider such as Google. If this is enabled and the Viewer has an account with the third party provider, and the Viewer chooses to access the Flip using said account, we will receive and capture the first and last name, as well as the e-mail address of that account.
By default, Viewer information is stored in our database upon signing in to access the Flip and is also stored temporarily in the browser's local storage for a period of 24 hours.
When a Viewer begins playback of the recorded Flip, we capture and store this information in our database. Other playback information such as when the video is paused, skipped, or has ended is also captured and stored. We use this information to determine the length of viewership and to help Creators assess the learning and experience of the Viewer.
Flips may optionally contain interstitial poll questions. If a poll question is present, Viewers are prompted to provide a response to that question. Responses may be predetermined single or multiple choice answers, or an open response in which the Viewer provides a free text answer. These response are stored in our database. We use the name that the Viewer provided to connect poll responses to individual Viewers to help Creators assess the learning of Viewers.
If you are a User and Creator associated with an Educational Institution (i.e. a school, organization, or educational business), you represent and warrant that:
